MOM MADE ME BE A TEACHER. I THINK I DID OKAY. (April 16, 2020)

Seventh post from the original blog.

"Okay, me and my sister, Sam, didn't do a science experiment yesterday or today, but there's always tomorrow. Or make that in a few days, since Mom, Sam, and my stepdad, Sean, went up to Beaver, Utah today. I stayed behind because I didn't really want to go, but I kind of did because I didn't want to be lonely.

Anyway, today when I got up, Mom told me that I had to be Sam's "teacher" instead of her because she was going to an older friend's funeral, and I was the only other person at home. First we worked on phonics and the two-vowel rule: if there are 2 vowels in a word, the first one uses the long sound instead of the short sound, and the second vowel is silent.

After phonics and reading, I wrote "My name is Sam." on a piece of that lined paper you use in kindergarten, first, and second grade for handwriting practice, and I had Sam copy the sentence three times. I wasn't punishing her, it was just time for writing. While she wrote, I read Big Nate: In a Class By Himself. It may be a book for nine-year-olds, but I still like the Big Nate novels and comic strips. Anyway, when Sam had finished her writing exercise, we went on a bike ride to the country clubhouse (because we live in a gated community with that sort of thing). After that I let Sam play for a little bit while I watched an episode of Good Mythical Morning. I got her some Lunchables (the ham, cheddar cheese, and Ritz crackers pack, also with the vanilla cream cookies), but she didn't eat much of it. Mom came home a few minutes later and made Sam some homemade pizza, and then they packed up for Beaver, Utah and drove off.

I got left with the bunny, Thunder, but that didn't stop me from playing video games.

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door - I got the Chuckola Cola for Admiral Bobbery's last request, but apparently he wasn't ready to kick the bucket just yet. I finally went into Pirate's Grotto, and I got all of the Star Pieces and Shine Sprites (probably) in Chapter 5. At one point, I used Bobbery's First Strike on a Bulky Bob-omb, but that turned out to be a mistake since all of the Bulky Bob-ombs in the battle (three of them) blew up and damaged Mario and Admiral Bobbery for six damage (two damage each, per Bulky Bob-omb). After beating Cortez and Lord Crump, and playing the intermission levels with Princess Peach and Bowser, I went to Hooktail Castle (on a trouble errand for Ms. Mowz) to get the Attack FX B Badge. I also got the Up Arrow to show Merlon in Rogueport once I got back, and he remembered the Ultra Stone he had bought at a flea market and stored in his attic. Thanks to the new-found Ultra Stone, I was not only able to power up Admiral Bobbery and Ms. Mowz (who is my newest and last partner), but I was also able to power up Goombella and Koops a second time. Life is sweet.

Kirby & The Amazing Mirror - I beat both Mustard Mountain and Carrot Castle. I found the map of Mustard Mountain, but the one for Carrot Castle still eludes me. I tried going to Olive Ocean through a mirror in Moonlight Mansion, but the way was blocked, so I have to think of a new way in. There's a way to Olive Ocean through Cabbage Cavern or something, so that's good.

So I'm stuck home alone for the next few days, but I'm pretty sure I'll make it. We've got a lot of food and snacks, and I have my phone and everything, so I think I'll be fine. Wish me luck, and have a good day!"
