SCIENCE IS FUN, BUT WHAT IF YOU SCREW UP? (April 15, 2020)

Sixth post from the original blog

"Yesterday I did another science experiment with my sister, Sam. She wasn't paying much attention, though, and only wanted to play with the balloons I had gotten out as part of the experiment. So, I mostly did the whole thing by myself.

I had a large balloon blown up as big as possible that represented the Sun, and I taped it to the end of a long piece of wire that I had cut off and bent in a U-turn so the ends were laying horizontal and the bend was inside of a large soda bottle.

Then I made two balls out of clay, a small blue one for Earth, and a smaller white one for the moon.

I slid a straw through the blue ball (with some difficulty) and slid the wire on the opposite side of the soda bottle that the balloon was hanging on through the straw.

Then I cut off a smaller piece of wire, stuck the white ball onto it, and taped it to the end of the straw so it was sitting close to the blue ball.

I think it was supposed to simulate the relationship between Earth, the moon, and the Sun. The only problem was that the instructions didn't have any pictures (which I think is stupid), so I was just winging it. The balls of clay made the whole thing top heavy, so when I showed Sam how Earth orbits around the Sun kind of like how the blue ball "orbits" around the balloon, I had to hold the soda bottle upright with my hand to keep it from falling over and ruining the effect.

Okay, so the first experiment was a bit of a dud, but at least I was able to bond with my sister. We're doing another experiment today, so hopefully it will go better and Sam will pay more attention.

I did play some video games afterwards.

Kirby & The Amazing Mirror - I finally beat Cabbage Cavern yesterday, and I started working on beating Mustard Mountain, but I wasn't sure where the treasure chest with the map was located. I figured out today that the area with the map is connected to a mirror in Rainbow Route, and that's the only way to get it.

Dr. Mario World - I won't talk about this much unless something good happens, since it's usually the same idea every time I play it: I play levels until I lose all my lives, I sometimes get stuck on hard levels, I do the daily booster game every day for extra coins, I spend coins (once I get 4,000) for doctors and assistants (level-ups are rare, let alone new doctors and doctor level-ups), I do the Daily Battle for seven wins' worth to unlock the Battle Boxes, and I do the doctor's orders to get more bonus coins. So, yeah. If something great happens, like I beat a world area or a really hard level or I get a new doctor (or a doctor level-up) or something, then I'll post it. If not, then... no. For those who are wondering, I'm on Stage 370 as of this post.

I also started working on Lynda.com, and I'm doing an introductory course on graphic design. I'm a cartoonist, and I draw on Photoshop, so I thought I could enhance my technique with a few courses on graphic design to make my art skills go through the roof. It turns out that graphic design for making money is more like making digital advertisements and stuff, not comics and cartoons. Hopefully there will be room for comics.

That's it for today. Have a good day, and I'll see you soon."

The original post featured a few pieces of art I had drawn and put onto DeviantArt and Fur Affinity, but I've decided to put all of those pictures and more into their own separate pages on this blog because I've deleted my DeviantArt and Fur Affinity accounts.
