MY FIRST POST. IT'S ABOUT ME. WHAT ELSE? (April 9, 2020)
Quick announcement before I start this blog: I'm taking all of the posts on my old blog and porting them to this blog. I'm starting with the first post I made on the old blog, "MY FIRST POST. IT'S ABOUT ME. WHAT ELSE?" It's four years old, so bear with me.
"My screen name is BartTheSock, but you can call me Brandon if you want. As I write this, I am 18 years old and I'm wrapping up my senior year in high school.
[This post was written four years ago. I am currently 22 years old as of when this was reposted.]
Well, it kind of wrapped itself up already, thanks to the coronavirus (or COVID-19) forcing most of us to go into quarantine for who knows how long.
I definitely feel bad about everyone who has to worry about COVID-19 (and by that, I basically mean everyone in general), but we've dealt with worse things and gotten through them okay, right?
With that out of the way, I should mention that this is actually my second blog I've made in my life. The first one, titled "Brandon's Blog - Fun With Video Games and Random Other Stuff," was a blog I made when I was twelve. This one is titled similarly to the original because I wanted it to be a kind of "sequel" or something. I would have just continued with the old one, since I worked on it for over a year, but I kind of forgot about it when I was about thirteen or fourteen, and couldn't remember how to get into it. I had used my mom's e-mail address (with her permission, of course) to sign in to my blog, but I think something went wrong. So, here we are over four years later, on a new blog.
[This blog that I made as of April 7, 2024 is my third blog. The original text in italics is taken from my second blog.]
Just so you know, I have tried finding my old blog on the Internet, but it disappeared for some reason. I'm saying this now so you don't try and look for it and end up going on a wild goose chase or something.
Okay, now for info on what I like. I am a huge video game fan, especially if it involves Super Mario, Kirby, or Pokemon. I know "Pokemon" has a line above the "e" in there, but I don't know how to do special characters on Blogger, so bear with me.
[A couple days after this was originally posted, I actually found out that you can put special characters like "é" into Blogger.]
Anyway, I've been doing what I always do when I want to have fun (especially during quarantine): Play video games!
A few days ago, my mom and stepdad took my little sister up to Utah for a couple days, and they left me at home to watch over the house. So I figured, why not play some GameCube games on my Wii? You know, since GameCube games are backwards-compatible with the Wii.
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door - I've played this before, but I was worried I was a little bit rusty from not playing this in a while, so I started over on a new file. I managed to get every available Star Piece in the game up to Chapter 4, which is about 59 Star Pieces. I got more when I started Chapter 5 on Keelhaul Key, but I forgot how many exactly. I did try and do the Pit of 100 Trials after Chapter 3, but I only went down to Floor 40. I did manage to level up twice in there, but that made the enemies in Twilight Trail and Creepy Steeple give only 1 Star Point each. I am currently at the part where Mario has to get Chuckola Cola for Admiral Bobbery as his "last request" or something.
Super Mario Sunshine - You'd think the first few levels would be easy, but it didn't seem to be the case for me. At least, not until I got the hang of it. I've played this before as well, but I was pretty bad at it the first time I played it. I'm doing better, but the main setback is trying to aim F.L.U.D.D. where you want him to spray, and also trying to remember that the paint in a part of a level (such as Bianco Hills) is automatically cleaned once you get the Shine Sprite of that part of the level. I did get three Shine Sprites without dying this time, so I'd call that progress.
I've also been hooked on YouTube while I've been on quarantine, and I've watched a whopping sixty episodes of Good Mythical Morning in the last week or two.
Anyway, see you later, and have a good day! I'll try and post more soon."
Okay, that was the first post of my old blog, recreated on this one. See you soon, stay safe, and have a good day!
